Collecting Miniature Books
When a novice discovers miniature books, and then purchases or is given that first one, something happens to that person’s brain. It’s emotional, and maybe a little greedy. Then a thousand questions spring up. Where can I find more? What do I really want to collect? Why do the prices vary so much from book to book? And, inevitably, how can anyone make anything so small, and so adorable?
Collecting Miniature Books attempts to answer some, if not all your questions. Does a chance encounter with one miniature book constitute a lifelong obsession? Can I afford it? Where do I put it? How do I keep my friends from thinking I’m crazy? How will I know when I have a ‘collection?
The author, a collector herself, has consulted her own history of collecting, and has interviewed several collectors to look at the sizes and ranges of various collections and how they were assembled. We hope you will discover what we have discovered: that collecting, displaying, handling and loving miniature books is a wonderful hobby, and more.
